We are delighted to announce that the booking window for the NAEO Summer Conference will open on Tuesday 16 April.
After our inaugural summer conference in Coventry (2022) was followed by the London conference last summer, this summer we will holding the conference at Leeds United Football Club, Elland Road, Leeds. LS11 0ES on Friday 28 June 2024. Elland Road stadium is a very accessible venue whether travelling by car or by public transport.
The focus of the conference is to support delegates in ‘Becoming a more effective exams officer’, with particular attention placed on helping exams officers in achieving the ‘skills’ element of the Exams Officer Professional Standards.
The conference will begin at 9am and end no later than 4pm. The agenda for the day is as follows (two workshops will be taking place during each workshop session):

In addition to a keynote session from Ofqual, workshops are being delivered by:
- The Exams Office – Train the Trainer – Hints and tips on training your invigilators and keeping them engaged whilst covering the contents of the ICE booklet!
- OCR – Managing examination results
- AQA – Developing effective communication skills
- Pearson – TBC
- Morrish Solicitors – TBC (Possibly Handling grievances/Negotiating an appropriate contract and remuneration whilst in post/The rules relating to time in lieu)
- Katherine McDiarmid – Juggling kittens against the clock? My approach to managing my time/workload
- Geraldine Jozefiak – Mindfulness (Title TBC)
As the NAEO is a not-for-profit organisation, we are grateful for the support offered by The Exams Office in helping us to hosting the Summer Conference. The NAEO would also like to thank Ofqual and the awarding bodies for their support in attending the conference to deliver workshops at their own expense.
The cost to attend the conference is £95 and includes refreshments and lunch. Additional places can be booked at £95 per delegate.
